Teacher of Mathematics
St George’s is seeking an experienced Teacher of Mathematics on a full time basis beginning in September 2026. The successful candidate will be able to teach Maths across the Senior School, including at Key Stage 3, IGCSE and IB.

Duties and Responsibilities
Teaching and Learning
- Confidently teach Maths at Key Stage 3, IGCSE and at IB Diploma level (preferably AI SL)
- Have experience of IB DP Maths Internal Assessments, providing feedback to students and marking/annotating IAs
- Plan and deliver Maths lessons with appropriate examples and explanations to help build students’ conceptual understanding
- Encourage all students to reach their academic potential through enthusiastic and personalised teaching, tailored challenge and enjoyment of Maths lessons
- Use tracking and monitoring to inform planning and teaching in order to advance student learning
- Follow the department’s schemes of work and proactively collaborate with year group teaching teams
- Contribute to departmental meetings
- Maintain and implement school and department policies including those for marking and assessment, teaching and learning and reporting
- Promote the wider aspirations and values of the school and the IB Learner Profile.
Pastoral
- Show an active interest in the personal circumstances of the children under your care, and foster their personal and social development
- Actively promote the social, moral and cultural ethos of the school community
- Create an atmosphere of support by being aware of, and fully compliant with, all the school policies on pastoral care
- Be familiar with all of the schoolʼs policies on Health and Safety and be proactive in ensuring the safety of all members of the school community at all times
- Promote exemplary behaviour and a responsible attitude amongst all pupils at all times
- Be aware of and act upon all policies regarding the safeguarding of children
- Contribute to the extra curricular life of the school
Professional
- Promote pride in the school among the pupil body through high standards of dress, behaviour and commitment
- Ensure that all communication is acted upon appropriately and in a timely manner
- Attend Parents’ Evenings, Assemblies and other school events during term time as the Head of School/Principal may, from time to time, require
- Be responsible for all school resources, particularly those in your care, reporting damage or loss to the appropriate authority within the school
- Contribute to the virtual learning environment, the website, social media and publications in support of your work
- Contribute to the school’s Self Evaluation and Strategic Plan
- Foster a close partnership with parents, initiating contact in appropriate circumstances and ensuring that there is a record of this
- Carry out any reasonable professional request made by the Principal or Head of School

Formal Qualifications / Experience
- A good UK Honours Degree (or equivalent)
