An outstanding and inspirational Junior School Music Teacher is required for August 2026.
Dulwich College (Singapore) is looking to appoint an outstanding and inspirational Junior School music teacher, with a passion for developing a love of music in every child they work with. Music is a central component of the Junior School’s curriculum, with each child learning an orchestral instrument in class instrumental lessons alongside classes in curriculum musicianship.
The successful candidate will be expected to deliver both class instrumental lessons (leading orchestral/band groups in brass, wind or strings) and curriculum musicianship classes. They will have the ability to conduct orchestras and ensembles, and will prioritise building a foundation of wellbeing in the classes they teach, supporting and challenging every child to help them thrive and maximise their musical potential.
Proficiency in playing piano and accompanying students will be advantageous (including sight reading classical and choral performances) alongside strength in performance music, experience in leading instrumental or choral ensembles and a knowledge of music technology. Applicants will be excited to create performance opportunities for, beginner through to expert student musicians and will make use of the state-of-the-art facilities that the College and Junior School offer. These include a professional theatre seating 750 people, an orchestral practice and recording room, black box theatres and fully resourced, dedicated music classrooms.
Applicants will understand the importance of home-school partnerships and will be passionate about interacting with children beyond the classroom, through the co-curricular programme. They will be internationally-minded and will embrace the opportunities presented by working with a diverse range of children and adults.
The successful candidates will work in one of the world’s leading international schools, including for music, as part of the Dulwich College International and EiM family of schools. This offers a wealth of opportunity for collaboration and growth, rich professional development provision, and supportive and caring teams.
